The Power of Organization and Planning

Organization has been one of the bane's of my life and I've never been able to fully grasp the skill. I knew going into college that was something that would need to be changed instantly if I wanted to have a shot at attaining success. With this goal in mind I spent the summer researching ways I how I could achieve this goal. With that research I found that by planning out my day in a calendar helped keep me accountable. As I'm sure many of us have experienced we at times we never feel as we achieve the tasks we need to do on a constant basis. I've fallen victim to this plenty of times where when I should be writing a paper I'm instead catching up on a TV show. By inputting our events into a calendar we hold ourselves accountable.

I contribute a large portion of my success last semester to the constant dedication I had in putting things into my calendar. By doing so I felt as if I was able to better manage my time and achieve more throughout my day. By inputting time slots for class and periods where I'd focus on homework I felt as if I was able to map out an entire day and stick to it. With this planning it freed up weekends and allowed me to enjoy them rather than have things looming over me. At the end of the day we all deserve a break every once in a while.

Despite all of these positives a calendar may not be the solution to a person's problems. Some people may feel the need to write things on a to do list or ask family members to keep them accountable. Organization isn't something that's a one size fits all there are various steps that you must take in order to fine tune your habits. Although my success story may seem like the dream scenario just realize that you to can develop these habits that will benefit you forever. Don't fall victim to procrastination and instead use that energy to try and get our of your comfort zone and see which method is for you.

Microtheme Final Submission

have sometimes bottled my emotions despite having numerous outlets available. I

imagine that other men in my position have done the same thing. No matter how hard I try I stillmanage to fall into this habit. Why do we do this to ourselves?

I have sometimes bottled my emotions despite having numerous outlets available. I imagine that other men in my position have done the same thing. No matter how hard I try I still manage to fall into this habit. Why do we do this to ourselves?

One possible cause for men's difficulty processing emotion could involve images of "manly" behavior that are embedded into media specifically books, films, and advertisements. These forms of media are all around us and as a result we encounter them often. Whether we’re going for a walk or watching TV there’s is always some form of media being presented. As someone who consumes Media through various social media platforms this is extremely relevant in terms of this issue.

Another possible cause could be a result of a child’s upbringing. Family plays an extremely vital role in a everyone’s life. As we are surrounded by our parents daily, we develop lifelong habits. Men specifically naturally pick up these communication styles.

It would be useful to explore the causes and how they affect Men’s Mental Health so we could create an effective dialogue to help treat more Men. By investigating this further we can create an atmosphere where Men feel comfortable to express their emotions without feeling any judgement from others. Embedding this into our media and parenting styles can further help allow this to happen.

Stuck at a Crossroads and the Struggles of Adjusting

College as everyone knows is massive adjustment as it requires a fast adjustment to the somewhat stress free life you endured throughout High School to a now solely relying on yourself and holding yourself accountable. Although I did extremely good on my first semester I still feel as if the intensity is to much to handle. However as my past experiences have shown I'm well equipped for the task and I have the ability to endure anything as long as I commit and put 100% into it.

As I embark on this journey throughout this semester and my life I'll be faced with a variety of challenges. Whether it's struggling to get the motivation to complete an assignment or feeling burnout after a stressful week. We are often left at a crossroads and feel as if there's no where to turn. Despite everything that's presented to us we must continue to maintain that positive outlook. I'm far from the most postive person however through the various experiences I've encountered throughout my life I believe it's made me stronger. Whether it's been my numerous moves and questioning whether I belonged in that environment or the challenges I faced when first swimming.

These challenges that I've faced just like anyone has shaped me into the person I am today. Whenever I feel as if I have nothing left in the tank I think back to those instances and push myself to go the extra mile. Just as the picture highlights every direction we go leads to a different outcome and emotion we feel. Yet despite all this we still manage to find our way and get to the destination we're aiming for. Although it may not be in the time frame we would want we still make it to our end destination. As you continue throughout your life think back to those experiences and remember that no crossroad is impossible to navigate.

Summer and ending my last year of college

As I'm currently writing this I'm nearing the end of my first year of college. It's surreal to think at how far I've come ...
